Goed nieuws voor de liefhebbers van de Nobile 1942 Deluxe Collectie! Naast de geuren RUDIS, MALIA en 1..1 is er sinds kort een nieuw parfum bijgekomen, genaamd SHAMAL. Net als de voorgaande parfums is ook SHAMAL verpakt in een handgemaakte leren doos.
SHAMAL
Er is een moment in de woestijn die toeschouwers in totale extase achterlaat. Het gebeurt wanneer de dag plaats maakt voor de nacht en de lucht transformeert, waarbij schaduwen van zwart naar blauw worden waargenomen en de sterren de hemel vullen om de maan gezelschap te houden.
Je moet toegeven – het is adembenemend. Uniek en onweerstaanbaar. De parelvisser die op zijn rug ligt en geniet van zijn uitzicht op de sterrenhemel, de sterren vormen zijn klok.
Piraten kunnen elk moment aanvallen, waarbij ze de slanke boot, beladen met parels en doeken, overmeesteren en al zijn waar met hard werken verkregen, stelen. Een gevaarlijke onderneming om de goederen van Oman naar Jemen te vervoeren. De visser wordt gesust door het kabbelen van de golven, een geluid dat hem terugvoert naar zijn kindertijd, gestreeld door de passaatwind die waait, de Shamal, de wind die meedogenloos – gedurende vele jaren – de duinen in de woestijnen heeft gevormd.
Terwijl de Shamal blaast, zacht en onophoudelijk, en de geur van dadels meebrengt vermengd met brandende wierook, ligt de parelvisser daar zalig en proeft hij wat fruit terwijl hij zich verzet tegen die verleidster, slaap.
Hij dagdroomt’. De beelden rond zijn geest nemen hem mee naar ver, ver weg, waar niets aards is, en alles lijkt licht en vluchtig, zijn lichaam verlicht van de vermoeidheid van de dag en zijn geest nieuw leven inblaast.
De parel werd gevormd toen een druppel regen de schaal onder het water wist te bereiken en zijn weg naar binnen kon vinden, waardoor het water uit de lucht veranderde in een prachtig juweel in de diepten van de oceaan.

SHAMAL
There is a moment in the desert that leaves spectators in total ecstasy. It happens when the day makes way for the night and the sky transforms, where shadows are perceived from black to blue and the stars fill the sky to keep the moon company.
You have to admit – it is breathtaking. Unique and irresistible. The pearl fisherman lying on his back and enjoying his view of the starry sky, the stars form his clock.
Pirates can attack at any time, stealing the slender boat, loaded with pearls and cloths, and stealing all its goods obtained with hard work. What many people don’t know is that ginger is more than a root, ginger is a rhizome. I hear you think what is the difference? The rhizome is considered an underground stem, which means that there are leaves and buds on it. The rhizome is usually also a storage place, while the roots are only an anchor for the plant in the soil.
Originally ginger, or Zingiberene Officinalis, grew in Asia and was one of the first spices to arrive in Europe. Ginger belongs to the same plant family as turmeric and cardamom. In folk medicine ginger was used because of its ability to relieve inflammation, fever, colds, respiratory discomfort, nausea, menstrual complaints, upset stomach, arthritis and rheumatism.
Nowadays ginger (mainly) comes from China, from tropical Asia and Jamaica. Ginger distillation produces a peppery, resinous and spicy note that is used in many male perfumes because of its freshness or color so that it matches the citrus notes. The use of this oil is limited because of the citral, a known allergen molecule.
Another extraction technique that can be used is the ‘extraction with volatile solvents’. This method produces better and more interesting oils because the odor contains fewer terpenic notes. However, this method is a lot more expensive. Extraction with volatile solvents consists of dissolving the part of the plant in a solvent which is then evaporated. Developed in the 18th century, we use suitable solvents such as hexane and ethanol. The fragrant result is called a concrete or resinous substance.
Steam distillation is a technique in which water steam is used to feed the fragrant molecules of raw materials through a condenser, the result is an oil.
